Christmas Carnival
Celebrating Christmas with Purpose: Our Christmas Carnival at South City Residency
On December 24 and 25, we at Soch Foundation celebrated the spirit of Christmas at South City Residency through a Christmas Carnival that went beyond festivity. Rooted in compassion and inclusion, the carnival was designed to bring the community together while creating meaningful impact for causes that often remain unheard.
Where Celebration Met Purpose
Christmas is a season of giving—and this carnival was our way of turning joy into action. Families, children, and residents came together to celebrate the festive spirit, knowing that their participation was contributing to something larger than the event itself.
At the heart of the carnival was our food stall, which carried a story of healing, dignity, and empowerment.
Giving a Voice Through Skill and Creativity
The baked goods at our stall were sourced from Antara Psychiatric Hospital, where long-term patients are trained in baking and other vocational skills as part of their therapeutic journey.
Every cake, cookie, and baked treat represented more than craftsmanship—it represented resilience, recovery, and the belief that mental health rehabilitation must include purpose and opportunity. Through this initiative, the carnival helped raise funds for Antara while also shining a light on their therapeutic programs that empower the mentally special-abled to rebuild confidence and independence.
By choosing to support the stall, visitors helped give these individuals a voice—one that spoke through creativity, skill, and dignity.
Community Support That Made a Difference
Across both days, the response from the South City community was heartening. Volunteers ensured smooth coordination, while visitors engaged wholeheartedly, understanding that their small choices—what they bought, where they spent—could contribute to meaningful change.
The carnival became a space where celebration and empathy coexisted naturally.
With Gratitude
We extend our sincere thanks to Antara Psychiatric Hospital for trusting us to share their work, and to every resident, volunteer, and supporter who chose to engage with the carnival thoughtfully. Your participation helped amplify an initiative that deserves greater recognition and support.
Carrying the Spirit Forward
This Christmas Carnival reminded us that inclusion begins when we create platforms for stories to be told and talents to be valued. As we move forward, we remain committed to supporting initiatives that uplift vulnerable communities and challenge stigma around mental health.
We invite you to:
Support organizations working in mental health and rehabilitation
Volunteer with Soch Foundation for future community initiatives
Choose purpose-driven celebrations that create lasting impact
Because sometimes, change begins not with words—but with something as simple as sharing a cake made with hope.
